# Library & Uploads

Browse shared Library assets or upload images for the current playground.

The Library & Uploads panel is where you find your assets while working in a playground. The Library tab holds your organization's shared assets. The Uploads tab holds images you drop in just for this playground.

***

## How to use the library tab

Browse, search, and drag in any asset from your Collections and Categories. To add, rename, or delete assets, see [Manage assets](/accountsetup/manage-assets.md).

{% stepper %}
{% step %}

#### Open the Library tab

The Library tab is open by default. Select the arrow next to a Collection or Category to open or close it.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

#### Switch between grid and line view

Next to the search bar, select the view toggle:

* Grid view shows your images in their natural ratio.
* Line view always shows the filename.

Your choice is remembered for this playground.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

#### Search for an asset

Type in the search bar to filter by Collection, Category, or asset name as you type.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

#### Pin a Collection or Category

Hover over a Collection or Category and select the pin icon. A pinned Collection moves to the top of the list. A pinned Category moves to the top of its own Collection. Pins stay in place across sessions.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

#### Preview an asset

Select an asset's preview icon to open it full screen. Use the arrows to move between assets, and the zoom controls to zoom in or out. Close it with the close button, or by clicking outside the image.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

#### Drag the asset into your scene

Drag it onto a scene to add it as a new layer, or onto empty canvas to start a new scene with it.
{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

## How to use the upload tab

Drop images straight into this playground without adding them to your organization's Library.

<figure><img src="https://3377749587-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FOUQ3EAPIPziQuBKQgmTy%2Fuploads%2FepjwebTAwR9qhE7UMHTU%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=d1c5707a-2d1f-45f2-b4ea-647376bc4687" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

{% stepper %}
{% step %}

#### Open the Uploads tab

Select the <kbd><mark style="color:$primary;">**Uploads**<mark style="color:$primary;"></kbd> tab, or just start dragging files from your computer onto the panel.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

#### Upload your images

Select <kbd><mark style="color:$primary;">**Upload**<mark style="color:$primary;"></kbd> at the bottom of the panel to open your file picker, or drop files directly onto the panel. You can select or drop more than one image at a time.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

#### Wait for upload

Each image shows a loading animation while it processes, then appears as a thumbnail once it's ready.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

#### Preview, drag, or delete

Hover over an uploaded image to see its filename, plus preview and delete buttons. Preview opens the same full screen view as the Library tab.
{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

## FAQ

<details>

<summary><strong>What's the difference between the Library tab and the Uploads tab?</strong></summary>

The Library tab holds your organization's shared assets, organized into Collections and Categories. Anyone on your team can use them in any playground. The Uploads tab only holds images for this one playground, they aren't shared elsewhere. To share an uploaded image across playgrounds, add it to your Library instead. See [Broken mention](broken://pages/P23kD3sT4B3azYVJIu1f).

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>Can I rename an asset from this panel?</strong></summary>

Not from here. Rename Collections, Categories, and assets from the Assets page. See [Broken mention](broken://pages/P23kD3sT4B3azYVJIu1f).

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>What file types and sizes can I upload?</strong></summary>

PNG, JPEG, WEBP, up to 90 MB per file.

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>If I delete an uploaded image by mistake, can I get it back?</strong></summary>

No. Deleting an image in the Uploads tab happens right away. Double-check before you select delete.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.theseaai.com/features/library-and-uploads.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
