Upscale

Increase image resolution while enhancing detail and texture. Upscale generates a higher-resolution version of your scene while preserving the original composition.

How to use

Select "Upscale"

In the left task menu, select Upscale.

This opens the Upscale settings panel.

Add your image

You may add an image by:

• Selecting Upload an image inside the scene

• Dragging and dropping an image from a folder on your computer

• Dragging and dropping an image from the Library panel at the bottom-left of the screen

Select an upscale type

In the Upscale settings panel, select the type that fits your image. Hover over any type to see its description.

Type	When to use
Standard	All image types
Advanced	Complex images with fine details, text, or logos
Creative	Add details beyond your input
Face	Advanced face recovery and enhancement
Smooth	Product images without adding texture
Detailed	Fine texture and details

Your last-used type is saved per playground and pre-selected on your next visit.

Set the scale

Select how much to enlarge the image. The scale defaults to x2. Available options depend on the type you selected.

Scales that create images of 8K or larger appear under For print only. The available scales depend on your image's resolution. You can download these images, but cannot edit them in the Playground.

Generate

Select Generate. The upscaled image will appear in your Playground.

If you selected a scale under For print only, your image is available to download only. Select Continue from original layer to return to the pre-upscale image.

Examples

Standard

Use Standard for a clean, reliable upscale. It works well with most images and keeps the original look.

Advanced

Use Advanced for product images with sharp edges, small text, or logos. It will keep lines clear, even for large upscales.

Creative

Use Creative when you want the upscale to contribute, not just enlarge. It adds detail that feels consistent with the original composition while pushing the image further.

Face

Use Face for portraits and any image where faces are the subject. It recovers and enhances skin detail without over-sharpening or introducing artificial texture.

Scaling options are not available with the face upscale.

Smooth

Use Smooth for products, packaging, and graphic images where clean edges and flat colors matter. It sharpens without adding photographic texture or noise.

Detailed

Use Detailed for images where surface texture, skin, and grain are the priority. It is the original Beachside upscale.

FAQ

What is the purpose of the x1 scale?

x1 does not resize your image. It applies quality enhancement without changing the dimensions.

Why can't I select some scaling options?

Beachside can't upscale your images to more than 12288px.

How can I use a For print only only image?

You can only download this image. Select Continue from original layer to return to the original image and dimensions.

Why does my For Print only image look pixelated in Beachside?

The preview shown in your Playground is a lower-resolution version to keep it running smoothly. Download the image to see its full quality.

I uploaded a large image and it was resized, why?

Uploaded images larger than 100MB with a side longer than 4000px will be resized to 4096px.
